Sr. Production Mechanic in Phillipsburg, NJ at Allied Reliability

Job Description

Allied Reliability is seeking experienced mechanics in the Phillipsburg, NJ area. This position comes with a competitive salary, full benefits & room for advancement!

• To perform the job functions to maintain efficiency of assigned machines in order to meet departmental and company goals.
• Works safely at all times, following plant/company policy and procedure such as LOTO, Stop Work, wears appropriate PPE.  Completes Peer to Peer observations, as required.
• To perform first articles on color and resin changes. Completes Line Clearance at end of run.
• To coordinate with Quality Control department on production activities, such as held ware, isolation procedures, etc.
• To utilize the MATTEC production reporting system to control and improve the process. For example: production reporting downtime reports, SPC, SQC, etc.
• To diagnose and resolve all IBM machine and processing problems to ensure product meets specifications and requirements.
• To make adjustments and maintain the bottle operation of the conveying, flaming, robotic and inspection systems on any IBM machine.
• Keeps equipment operational by coordinating maintenance and following manufacturer’s instructions and established procedures.
• Continuously improves the efficiency of the IBM production department by improving existing processes.
• Able to complete mold set ups.  Responsible for turning in acceptable First Article to QA.
• Exhibit leadership skills by directing activities of utilities assigned to the group leader.
• Responsible for the complete ownership of assigned machines and lines.
• Contributes to the team effort.
• Supports and adheres to all safety policies.
• Follows and supports all GMP’s.
• Other duties as assigned

Education and/or Equivalent Experience

• Two (2) years of experience in plastic blow molding or equivalent on the job training.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Must be able to complete an IBM set up.

Physical Requirements/Work Environment

• Must be able to work twelve (12) hours per day with three 15-minute breaks and one (1) 30-minute lunch. Must be able to work overtime on very short notice.
• Must be able to work safely in the vicinity of open flames, hot plastic, oil and metal (at approximately 350-380 degrees). There is possible exposure to dust and odors from various substances such as oil, molten plastics, degreasers and cleaning solvents.
• Noise level is usually 90dB and above and requires ear protection.
• Must be able to work around sharp edges of machinery and moving machine components.
• Must wear the following personal protective equipment: rubber soled/ steel toed shoes, ear plugs, safety glasses, hard hat, gloves and forearm sleeves.
• Will be required to lift on an occasional basis anywhere from 10-50 lbs. Must be able to carry approximately 50 lbs. for a distance of 100 ft twice a day on the average. Must be able to push/pull a 1000 lb. mold into position on a machine table.
• Must be able to stand on average 10 hours a day.
• Must be able to detect visual defects in a bottle. Must be able to clearly distinguish shades in color
• Must be able to hear and recognize various sounds such as emergency machine shutdown alarms.
• Bending and twisting at a 90 ° angle will be required about 50% of the day.
• Must be able to read and understand all work procedures and instructions.
