Job Description

Creating, developing and improving maintenance planning, scheduling and coordinating process. 



Responsibilities

Safety
Supports safety efforts in the maintenance department; participate in programs and systems to promote a safety culture at the site
Determine and manage safety considerations of jobs to be done during planned outages, in partnership manufacturing operations

Support manufacturing process' quality efforts
In alignment with the Supply Chain, site, and divisional quality goals
ISO 9001 & 50001 improvement efforts

Leads/Supervises Mechanical & Electrical Planners
Managing the work request/work order system through full life cycle.
Converting work requests into well constructed maintenance job plans.
Developing and maintaining routine PM/inspections in Oracle
BOM development
Material procurement for planned work
Cost control
Manages department KPI’s and leads the planning group in achieving desired performance targets.

Develops, implements, and improves maintenance planning systems and resources in support of weekly, down day and outage execution and best practices. Efforts include:
Effectively lead, coordinate, and manage all aspects of the development of weekly maintenance work schedules using the maintenance work request system and maintenance backlog in partnership with maintenance and operations. 
Communicating with operations to effectively schedule and coordinate maintenance jobs for running inspections, downtime PM’s & planned outages, in coordination with the Maintenance Planners
Informing the Maintenance Manager of key maintenance and business activities to ensure that resourcing and production requirements are met in a timely manner
Assisting with management of the overflow of routine maintenance work orders
Maintain, audit and improve maintenance processes to lower costs and to improve equipment performance and reliability and personnel safety

Supports equipment, parts and etc. cost control via:
Participating in cross functional cost reduction activities for plant-managed purchases
Approving recommended parts lists for Assigned Planners
Ensure critical spare inventories are available across manufacturing process including the oversight of the repairable process (920s)
Estimate costs of personnel, parts, and supplies to be used during scheduled maintenance

Takes advantage of planned equipment down time to capture BOM for the equipment that is taken apart or cannot be captured while in operation

Manages Maintenance Outages across the site
Management of work load
Manage Planned Outage backlog in Oracle
Determine list of jobs to be executed at each outage
Support the progression to greater proactive and preventive maintenance by ensuring that outage plans incorporate PMs, inspections, and aging outage work at the appropriate level
Partner with Engineering organization to integrate capital engineering work into the overall site planned outage plan
Management of Work Execution
Consistent planned outage process execution across manufacturing process, to include regular meetings gearing up to the outage to align the operating units around jobs to be done and definition of outage success
Develop and assist in the coordination of detailed planned outage plans to safely complete required/desired outage jobs at a high level of quality and at the maximum efficiency, meeting a predicted cost
Facilitate Planned Outage Critical Path in partnership with operations as well as procure materials, and prioritize/schedule work to maximize process up-time and minimize material costs and contract services
Determine level-loading of craftsmen in advance of outages and, as outages progress, across operating units
Lessons Learned
Facilitate Outage Lessons Learned following the completion of each planned outage, to include start-up results and KPIs such as Equivalent Forced Outage Rate
Maintain a Lessons Learned database to develop planned outage and start-up best practices for the site
Preparation for unplanned opportunities:
Ensure maintenance Planners have key outage jobs ready to execute, including kitting, in the event of an unplanned downtime opportunity
Develop outage execution contingency plans to include ensuring lower priority work is ready to execute in the event of schedule changes / opportunities

Manage process line hourly planners to achieve world reliability 
Conduct weekly communications with all Plant Reliability Managers to review adherence to Corporate PM program objectives.
Work with all plant department reliability assurance specialists to insure critical equipment listings are accurate & complete.
Coordinate the plant’s mechanical & electrical technical writing efforts of preventive maintenance documents for specific plant critical equipment.
Furnish recommendations for equipment lubrication schedules; including special purpose lubrication products & specifications, lubrication task frequency, & best practice lubrication methods
Develop & conduct PM document development training.
Assist plant reliability specialists with field audit techniques and equipment data gathering.
Conduct plant site audits of PM field tasks to insure standardized work instructions are clear and complete.

Assist plant representatives with the development of basic PM document format. Assist with both basic and advanced PM task descriptions.
Review draft version PM documents for clear descriptions, format consistency, & propose technical revisions where required.
Monitor & track progress of the PM quality initiative program & generate a monthly status report
Continue to develop new equipment component modules to further enhance the Corporate PM phrase library.
Manage new PM documents within the Corporate EDMS system.
Identify Operational delays and lead activities for problem-solving and continuous improvement activities.

Develop monthly progress reports for Operating areas under your responsibility.
Develop effective PM’s for equipment to support business unit metrics.
Provide direction for Q.I.T. and other support groups to assist Operating units and meet Business Plan objectives.
Interact with other Operating facilities to ensure consistent practices are maintained.



Qualifications

Preferred Education / Experience 

B.S. in Engineering and 10 years in plant maintenance

Five years of planning & scheduling experience managing outage budget of $15+ Million per annum
Five years supervisory experience
Strong Oracle, Excel and Microsoft Project computer skills
