Job Description

Plans, directs, and coordinates manufacturing processes in industrial plant.


  • Develops, evaluates, and improves manufacturing methods.
  • Construct Project Plans to meet project goals and time-lines.
  • Use approved format to define project.
  • Develop milestones to accomplish goals and deadlines
  • Develop objectives to accomplish milestones.
  • Analyzes and plans work force utilization, space requirements, and workflow, and designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.
  • Confers with planning and design staff concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods.
  • Confers with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts, and evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards.
  • Estimates production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions.
  • Confers with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes.
  • Applies statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential.
  • Work with suppliers and tool makers to develop and maintain production tooling.
  • Maintain records and documentation systems.
  • Develop and implement cost reductions.
  • Support systems to monitor and improve overall equipment effectiveness.
  • Support utilization of the A3 problem solving techniques.
  • Incorporate lean manufacturing principles into the processes design, work and material flow.
  • Collaborate with tool designers, drafters or tool makers on specific projects or assignments

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A./B.S.) from four-year college or university and a minimum of three years relevant experience; or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Working proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.  Knowledge of Auto-CAD and Microsoft Outlook is helpful.
  • Occasional work-related travel is expected.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the associate will need to have knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures; production and manufacturing processes; application of engineering science and technology; design techniques; and mechanical knowledge.
