Job Description

We are looking for a Maintenance Mechanic in the Moreno Valley area to assist in day-to-day operations. The MM performs tasks which provide emergency, preventative and routine maintenance service to the mill equipment, physical plan, office and buildings. 



Responsibilities

  • You are expected to perform Key Job functions at or above satisfactory level.
  • Responsible for the repair of equipment to manufacturer's specifications.
  • Responsible for supplying personal tool kit. 
  • Perform all work safely. 
  • Inspects completed maintenance work and assures that work conforms to specifications. 

Day-to-Day

Plumbing 

  • Ability to thread steel pipe and install properly.  Able to install PVC/CPVC piping with proper gluing.
  • Fabricate and braze/solder copper piping
  • Possess a good understanding of the operation of steam traps, steam and water regulators and all types of valves
  • Ability to install, trouble shoot and adjust air cylinders and pneumatic valves
  • Mechanical 
  • Ability to properly perform preventive maintenance tasks/ inspections and lubrication schedules.
  • Change drive belts and chains
  • Working knowledge of air compressors and the ability to check fluid levels and add as needed. 
  • Able to inspect elevator and conveyor belts for proper operation and track/adjust belts as needed.
  • Ability to change sprockets, shieves, shafts and bearings
  • Ability to install a nd repair gear boxes including seals and bearings
  • Able to replace grinding rolls on Denver/Barley roller mills
  • Understanding and ability to repair sewing heads including adjusting the timing
  • Able to understand mechanical drawings for the propose repairing equipment and procuring of spare parts

Fabrication 

  • Able to cut and drill all types of materials
  • Able to make simple welding repairs and fabrication on equipment

Electrical

  • Ability to check for bad connections or fuses with multimeter.
  • Wiring of electric motors 120, 240 and 480 volt. 
  • Ability to trouble shoot a simple electrical circuit and rewire as needed
  • Has an understanding o f how to read electrical schematics
  • Working knowledge of transformers, relays, auxiliary contacts, motor starters and types of overload protection

Please note these are a generic overview. A solid candidate will be comfortable with at least half of the day-to-day and open to being trained. 



Qualifications

  • Strong Electrical Experience (3+ relevant years)
  • Mechanical Experience (machinery, bucket elevators, conveyor belts, gears, bearings)

Work hours: 2:00pm-10:30pm during plant hours
