Job Description

Job Summary:
This position is responsible for coordinating and supporting all processes related to the maintenance of the plant’s Utilities equipment (boilers, air compressors, water treatment equipment, waste water treatment equipment, pollution control equipment, etc.). The Engineering Services Utilities Manager is directly responsible for leading the Utilities Supervisor and hourly technicians/operators. Total direct and indirect reports for this position exceeds 12+ at the plant. This position reports to the location’s Engineering Services Manager.


Key Responsibilities:
• Ensure optimal performance of all utilities equipment to include continuous improvement, downtime reduction, energy consumption reduction, measurement, environmental impact:
-digital drive, PLC, and process control systems
-computer systems and networks
-electrical power distribution and systems
- create standard work audits, layered audits and appropriate work oversight
• Maintain appropriate performance reports
• Establish collaborative internal and external relationships:
-engineering services team members
-plant departments
-outside contractors and vendors
• Develop, evaluate, and maintain preventative maintenance processes
• Understand and effectively participate in the plant safety process
• Coordinate training, developing, and coaching team members:
-Foster a working environment that promotes open communications, teamwork and individual engagement to accomplish goals and objectives
-Ensure that work is properly allocated and completed in a timely and accurate manner
-Ensure safety rules are clearly understood and followed
• Develop/implement capital investment projects/budgets
• Manage maintenance spending to defined budget



Qualifications - Required:
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• Strong technical and problem-solving skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• 2 years minimum experience working in a manufacturing environment

Qualifications - Preferred:
• BS degree (mechanical or electrical engineering)
• Previous experience in a utilities operation
• Working knowledge of SAP
• Experience in LEAN and six sigma principles
