Job Description

Currently, we have an immediate and exciting need for an Electrical Engineering Manager at our largest facility located in Charleston, SC. We're looking for a results oriented professional with an exemplary track record of success in safety and regulatory compliance to join our team.


  • Provide leadership, technical support, and direction to the Electrical and Instrumentation (E&I) technicians, and are responsible for the repair and preventive maintenance of electrical systems, instrumentation, and control systems in the manufacturing operations.
  • Provides direction and coaching of Electrical and Instrumentation technicians in their roles, responsibilities and expectations to meet plant objectives in safety, environmental, quality, cost, and customer service.
  • Ensures that plans, schedules, and materials are available to allow for E&I work to be handled effectively and efficiently (daily and outages)
  • Contribute to the efforts of the Mt. Holly Manufacturing team to safely improve reliability by applying reliability principles such as Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) and Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) to identify the appropriate Predicative and Preventative maintenance procedures.
  • Ensure Electrical Safe Work Practice compliance.
  • Provide E&I outage job planning as required for the factory.
  • Manage contracted services as required.
  • Provide maintenance duty on call coverage as required.
  • Provides technical support for efficient troubleshooting and or problem solving activities to maximize efficiencies and limit downtime.
  • Build electrical and control system strategies and execution plans that will continually improve the electrical reliability of the operation.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of all plant CAPEX projects.
  • Partner with area leaders to provide a more competitive position with key operating parameters such as safety, environmental, product quality, productivity, and cost. Strategies will be focused on assets, systems, technology, people and outside resources.
  • Lead electrical resources, initiatives, and strategic plans and be accountable for performance of electrical systems and assets.
  • Support and regularly interface with multiple operating and maintenance groups at the plant level and multiple technical groups at a corporate level.


What You Will Need

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (or Technology) degree.
  • Five or more years of work experience in E&I maintenance and equipment reliability within an industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.

What Will Put You Ahead

  • 7+ years of engineering and maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) experience.
  • Training in reliability concepts and approaches.
  • The ability to think and develop both tactical and strategic plans.
  • Proficient with 480V – 13.8KV Switchgear and Power Distribution equipment.
  • Working understanding AC and DC electrical motor performance and reliability.
  • Knowledge of distributed control systems (DCS), programmable logic controls and DC/AC drive systems.
  • Instrumentation experience including troubleshooting of level, flow, temperature instrumentation.
